National Geographic Homepage and Search Page

National Geographic has been a portal to the unseen for over 125 years. This website "rejig," was a pilot project to pave a way for a full redesign. The goal was to balance the unexpected with the most urgent. So we designed a homepage had two feeds: the left had the best from the Geographic universe and the right, a reverse chronological feed of the latest. In other parts of the site like the Search page, we experimented with ways to surface things in a fun way.

Proof Photo Blog Homepage Design

National Geographic is known for its photography but there was nowhere in their digital space that highlighted their people and projects and their own voice. We wanted to bring the perspective of their highly esteemed photographers and photo editors to the forefront, giving readers a sneak peek behind the curtain. In the process, we started our own column, Artifacts. Read an artifact
