		<description>Admittedly, I don't know much about kids - however, when friend and producer Mo Ah-Sue approached me about art directing a spot for YTV's hit shoe The Next Star, I was stoked to learn something about them!

It turns out that pre-teens are really just adults with less baggage. They are creative and unafraid to take risks. They are unapologetically enthusiastic. And they appreciate a good hero light.

The concept here was a teenage bedroom meets a starry sky. So antique/homey elements were mixed with bright and shiny synthetics. All-in-all, a fun party, captured by the awesome Samy Inayeh.

Shot on RED camera at Amsterdam Brewery in Toronto, July 2011.

Here are some behind-the-scenes photos of the set and filming in process:

When producer and good friend Mo Ah-Sue asked if I would art direct a music video for Explosion Robinson (aka Anthem Facility) I could barely contain my excitement. In less than 2 months, I assembled and directed an amazing art team (including a stylist, hair/makeup artist, designer and art assistants), sourced all the props and worked alongside Mo and the director of photography Kevin C.W. Wong to create a window into a woman's creative wanderings.

The song, entitled "Trace", was featured on the August 14 episode of Entourage. It can be downloaded on iTunes.

Shot on RED camera in studio in Toronto, March 2011.

		<description>Curation is separates TSN’s iPad app from it’s other mediums. It allows the sports fan to take charge: with the iPad app, a TSN user should be able to get what he wants, when he wants, at the click of a button.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_splash_02.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="456" width_o="1584" height_o="1080" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_splash_02_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_splash_01.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="456" width_o="1584" height_o="1080" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_splash_01_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;
When TSN would like to push special content, a splash page could appear upon launch, that gives the reader a choice betweem seeing the special coverage of an event, or continuing to the usual landing page.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_LANDINGPAGE.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="456" width_o="1584" height_o="1080" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_LANDINGPAGE_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;
The LANDING page is the first page you encounter after loading the application and is the portal to all of TSN’s iPad content. The user is immediately given access to the full gamut of TSN content, including headlines, columns+blogs, videos, twitter feeds, It’s Your! Call etc. They can scroll down to see more sliders (shown here are the headlines, columns+blogs and videos sliders), or slide the individual categories side to side to see more content within a category.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_STORY_01b.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="456" width_o="1584" height_o="1080" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_STORY_01b_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;
Once a user chooses an item from the landing page, their screen re-organizes to a more open design, the STORY PAGE, where a user can easily read or watch the chosen story. A social media bar allows users to tweet, facebook, e-mail or “appreciate” (which adds the tags for a particular story to the content filtered into MyTSN). This page also features an “It’s Your! Call” button so a user can read and write comments. The user can easily return to the previous page, or jump to other sport-specific landing pages, using the “back” button and the navigation along the top.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_MyTSNBlank_01.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="456" width_o="1584" height_o="1080" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_MyTSNBlank_01_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;
The app would also feature a customizable MyTSN page, where a user can curate the exact information that is presented.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_MYTSNPAGE.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="456" width_o="1584" height_o="1080" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/872866/TSN_iPad_MYTSNPAGE_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;
The user can decide what categories, sports, teams and players are of interest to him, and the order in which it is all displayed. In this example, the user has chosen to see only the headlines pertaining to his favourite two teams, the Leafs and the Raptors. He has also added players on his fantasy hockey team, so he can scroll through and see the latest news on each individual.

		<description>In September of 2009, Scream TV became Dusk, a more female-friendly, thriller-centric channel. The name plays off the idea of a daily transformation, a transition point from light into darkness - a parallel with the content, which is meant to be thrilling, without being jarring.

I was a designer/animator on the project for Corus Entertainment, working under the creative direction of Imaginary Forces.

		<description>In October of 2010, The Globe and Mail launched an extensive re-design project, that started with a billion-dollar investment in new presses, and ended with a full-colour, re-vamped daily print product. The "gem" of the re-design was the creation of a 24-page weekly style magazine, printed on semi-gloss white paper.

I was hired to art direct and design this new section, and continue to art direct the weekly product. This includes everything from conceptualizing, organizing and directing fashion and product photo shoots to laying out the pages on a weekly basis. For every tearsheet below I created a photo brief, hired photographers, stylists and models and directed on set. I also laid out the pages.

Please check back as I add new tear sheets along the way!

		<description>Fairmont Hotels &#38; Resorts is known for their class and solid service. I was inspired by the "F" on their logo, which became the masthead of the magazine. It is unique; yet, it has come to be an incredibly recognizable mark throughout the years. We hoped that each page would have a similar quality to this stamp - strong enough to stand alone, yet, has a recognizable/dependable feel.

		<description>When my sister got married, I practically begged her to do her invitations.

The result is a mix of three papers - a ribbed black cardstock, a metallic pearl paper, and a handmade Japanese chiyogami.

		<description>Feminists In Fashion is a project born out of a desire to create a global archive of feminist women leaders whose change-making efforts are contributing to the world in extraordinary ways, and who dispel the myth that feminist women cannot look and feel fabulous while doing the vital work that they do!

As the creative director of the project, I have helped coordinate photographers around the world, and recently have started to develop the branding of the organization.

Here is the logo, currently under development:

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/491113/Femfash_SingleLogo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="330" width_o="1319" height_o="651" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/491113/Femfash_SingleLogo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Logo variations:

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/491113/Femfash_LogoVariations.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="686" width_o="1319" height_o="1352" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/491113/Femfash_LogoVariations_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Horizontal option:

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/491113/Femfash_LogoHorizontal.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="185" width_o="1319" height_o="366" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/491113/Femfash_LogoHorizontal_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

Femfash Website, currently under development:

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/491113/FemfashWebsite04b.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="393" width_o="920" height_o="540" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/1/40410/491113/FemfashWebsite04b_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

I also photographed one of the women, Louise Binder. I continue to see her and photograph her today:
